IV RUSSOFT Sailing Regatta Held at CIPR-2024
On May 20, the much-anticipated RUSSOFT sporting event – the IV Sailing Regatta – took place in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the CIPR-2024 cultural and entertainment program. This year, the race brought together teams from not only RUSSOFT member companies but also one of Russia’s largest digital economy events, the CIPR conference, for an exciting competition on the banks of the Volga River.
The RUSSOFT Sailing Regatta is a long-standing tradition within the Association’s informal events calendar. It offers a unique opportunity to combine leisure and networking in an active team game.
‘Each time, the Regatta is an unforgettable experience that fosters camaraderie and a sense of accomplishment. Later on, this experience is retained and disseminated among companies, colleagues, family, and relatives. It is the right thing that sets the tone for our community that despite being competitors in the same market, we are united by a shared desire to collaborate and connect. This is just part of the everyday life of the whole IT community, which allows us to leverage this experience, friendship, and trust in each other. The best thing about leadership is that you can have a lot more power when you work with others,’ said Valentin Makarov, RUSSOFT President, congratulating the winners.
The most courageous and determined competed for the RUSSOFT Sailing Regatta cup. A total of 13 companies took part: ALMI Partner, Arcadia, eXpress, DZ Systems, STM Labs, Vestnik Svyazi, Astra Group, Cyberprotect, Open Solutions, Russian Post, RED SOFT, RFRIT, and SITEK.
eXpress took first and second places, competing on two boats: eXpress VCS and eXpress Superapp.
‘For me, it was my first sailing experience. The whole thing depends on team coordination, second to second, millimeter to millimeter. We did well, and we will definitely be back next year. Veni, vidi, vici – I came, I saw, I conquered! What else can we say? Catch up!’ said Andrey Vratsky, CEO of eXpress.
ALMI Partner took third place.
‘It was great, it was strong! Strong competitors, a tough game, and victory! For most of us, racing was a new experience – a great, team-building, and well-organized event. Special thanks for this. Please, invite again! We are excited to take part in the IV Sailing Regatta – we highly recommend that everyone joins RUSSOFT!’ said Dmitry Sorokin, Business Development Director at AlterSoft.
This year, the event was held for the first time as part of the cultural and entertainment program of CIPR, one of Russia’s largest digital economy events. RUSSOFT is sincerely grateful to the CIPR organizers for putting their trust and for all their help in organizing this year’s Sailing Regatta. We showed that we can reach new heights when we work together!
The RUSSOFT Regatta was held at Sila Vetra Yacht Club, Russia’s largest sailing community. For over a decade, they have been organizing regattas and expeditions all over the country and around the globe. They have also been training captains and making yachting accessible to everyone.
