From November 14 to 16, 2024, Shenzhen hosted the China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF-2024), the largest technology exhibition in East Asia. At the event, CIPR, in collaboration with the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region, presented a joint booth for the second time, showcasing Russian solutions for the international market. The Russian delegation comprised representatives of leading technology companies, including MTS, 1C, Dao Tech, and STM Labs, as well as a number of Nizhny Novgorod companies that presented the region’s developments and achievements.
CIPR-2024 Main Results: 10,000 Participants, Cutting-Edge Technology, and International Signings
From May 21 to 24, Nizhny Novgorod hosted the main digital economy event, the Digitalization of Industrial Russia conference. A total of 9,812 people from 89 regions of Russia and 25 countries participated in the event. The exposition featured 156 show-benches showcasing tech solutions from Russian and international companies. The total area of the conference was 18,000 sq.m. The business program included 107 discussions with 785 speakers. A total of 141 agreements were signed during the conference, including international agreements with China, Cuba, and Iran.
At the CIPR-2024 site, business and government representatives traditionally discussed the most pressing issues of digital transformation of key economic sectors. The conference was attended by Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, First Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Head of the Government Staff, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadayev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Gleb Nikitin, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Oleg Belozerov, General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of Russian Railways, Mikhail Oseyevsky, President of Rostelecom, Alexey Likhachev, General Director of Rosatom State Corporation, Vladimir Potanin, President of MMC Norilsk Nickel, PJSC, Alexey Mordashev, General Director of Severgroup Holding, Yevgeny Kaspersky, General Director of Kaspersky Lab, Boris Nuraliyev, Director of 1C, and other representatives of state corporations and companies.
On the first day of CIPR-2024, the main plenary session, Technological Independence of Industrial Russia, was held. During this session, Mikhail Mishustin discussed the interim results of industry’s digital transformation and subsequent plans with the heads of the ICCs. The Head of the Government announced the launch of a new support tool for organizations that will use Russian solutions for ‘heavy’ software. Up to half of the costs associated with the implementation of key classes of Russian engineering and industrial software will be compensated.
On the final day of the event, CIPR welcomed Alexander Khinshtein, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications. Mr. Khinshtein and his colleagues from the Committee toured the exposition and held a visiting session at the conference venue.
“In 2024, CIPR has further solidified its status as the country’s leading digital event. A huge number of guests and participants, interesting stands, productive negotiations, and signings. On behalf of Nizhny Novgorod Region alone, we signed over 30 different documents to support cooperation between the region and major companies. At CIPR-2024, our IT companies showcased over 50 innovative developments. It was encouraging that the industry’s achievements were on display for all to see. Even parents with very young children were at the conference on the “open day”. Perhaps, these impressions will help people make career choices. At CIPR, key market players presented new solutions.
– Sber announced the launch of the new SberBox set-top box, which makes TVs smart.
– Rostec State Corporation presented a number of solutions, including the DeepMail secure email system, which offers a comprehensive alternative to Microsoft’s similar solutions; the RT Protect EDR system for countering sophisticated cyberattacks, which provides robust protection against hacker attacks on IT infrastructures of organizations; the Osnovanie certification center, which enables Russians abroad to access public services in the Russian Federation; and the SmartAirkey city access system, which is designed to facilitate a convenient, secure, and barrier-free environment for people with disabilities.
– Open Mobile Platform showcased the Aurora 5.0 operating system. The company showed a Russian-made interface and a set of available apps, modifications, and switchers.
– URALCHEM United Chemical Company, JSC, presented a digital twin of enterprise’s technological processes, which has fully replaced foreign software.
– Russian aerospace company Bureau 1440 has announced collaboration with Russian Railways and Aeroflot with the aim of applying satellite technologies in the transportation sector. As part of the agreement, the goal is to provide passengers with access to stable and high-speed Internet.
– Fplus, an electronics manufacturer, has developed and released the first four-socket server in Russia to feature the Buran series. Built on the fourth generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, the new server offers a significant performance boost of over 50% compared to models based on previous generation processors.
– T1 Holding has announced plans to launch Silaron APCS for large enterprises with continuous production. A prototype of the complex has already been created and is currently undergoing testing. The hardware is based on Russian components, and the devices will be assembled in Russia. It is expected that the initial production run will include up to 3,500 modules per year.
– KAMAZ showcased the real operation of the Kamotive Russian digital platform. Attendees were able to observe how engineers from several companies use Kamotive to jointly develop a bus model.
– Aquarius and Nemifist showed a computer with notable properties. The processor is an AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX, which features 96 Zen 4 cores. The processor is supported by 192 virtual threads. The base frequency is 2.5 GHz, with a Boost frequency of 5.1 GHz.
– Moscow ITD has made two new components of its Mos.Tech technology platform available for testing by Russian developers: the Mos.Track IT project management service and the Mos.Wiki documentation service.
At CIPR-2024, over 140 agreements were concluded, including international agreements with China, Cuba, and Iran. Of note is an agreement signed by Rostelecom with China Huaming International Investment Co., Ltd. The agreement outlines multidisciplinary cooperation in ICT. Solar Group and Cuban service provider and developer Segurmática have initiated a comprehensive cooperation to develop IS solutions, cybersecurity technologies, and facilitate export support.
“Every year, CIPR provides an invaluable opportunity for cooperation, experience exchange, and international collaboration development among companies in the high-tech industry. This year, foreign delegates took part in all conference blocks: representatives from 25 countries attended the event, companies from China, the Republic of Belarus, and other countries showcased their solutions at the exhibition, 15 international cooperation agreements were signed, and an international cyber championship was held, with teams from 21 countries applying for participation. We intend to further develop the international block and expand the opportunities for interaction with partner countries”, stated Olga Piven, CIPR Director and Co-Founder.
The Decipraland digital art exhibition, held at CIPR, brought together over 40 artists and over 70 digital artworks, which were broadcast on media screens. This year’s theme was (RE)VISION, which encouraged participants to rethink digital aesthetics. Additionally, six digital sculptures in augmented reality created by multimedia artists Maxim Pshenichnykh, Kolbovskiy, Anna Polani, and Anastasia Vishnevetskaya were installed in public spaces in Nizhny Novgorod.
On May 22, the winners of the CIPR Digital Business Awards, recognizing the most outstanding achievements in digital technologies, were announced. In 2024, 480 applications were submitted by leading Russian companies, departments, and constituent entities of the Russian Federation to participate in the award program. Following the technical selection process, 458 applications were included on the longlist for the award. The award jury, chaired by Maksut Shadayev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, selected the winners in each of the 13 categories.
In addition to the business program, CIPR hosted a series of championships, festivals, and sports competitions.
The Russian Environmental Operator organized the Uberu street zone, which provided an opportunity for participants to gain insight into recycling and digital services that streamline the recycling process, as well as to learn about a conscious approach to ecology and responsible consumption.
The event also included large-scale Festival of Robot. Kids. Guests observed robot fights and practiced 3D hand modeling and 3D puzzle assembling, robot programming, and drone flight simulation.
CIPR hosted the final of the International Cyber Championship in Information Security. The competition was organized by Solar Group with the support of the Ministry for Digital Technology, Communication and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. They received over 180 applications from 21 countries. 40 teams from 19 countries took part in the qualifying stage. The final competition was held between seven teams from Russia, Turkmenistan, and Myanmar. The battle was held in the Red vs Blue format. The white hat hackers (“red” teams) were specially trained professionals, while the finalists defended critical facilities from their attacks as part of “blue” teams. The team from Russia emerged as the clear leader in the competition by not losing a single point out of 2,024 during the decisive battle.
Over 70 students from 13 regions took part in NEIMARK.Hackathon. The participants worked in 10 teams for three days on ideas for an ideal university campus model. The first place went to a team of students from the Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Chelyabinsk Regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan, and Krasnodar Territory with their Terra: The Campus of the Future project. The participants developed the concept of a campus as a mini-city, comprising full-fledged laboratory buildings, training centers, student MPCSs, and a special underground dome building where everyone can join creating innovations.
The IV RUSSOFT Sailing Regatta was also held as part of the CIPR-2024 cultural and entertainment program. This year, the race brought together not only teams from RUSSOFT member companies but also CIPR participants in an exciting competition on the banks of the Volga River.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin opened the Ice and Speed Phygital Festival as part of CIPR-2024. This event brings together traditional and digital sports, with teams competing in games on both game consoles and actual fields. Honored Coach of Russia Stanislav Cherchesov also explored the phygital sports projects.
From May 20 to 26, the CIPR Tech Week, a large-scale technological festival, was held. It comprised a variety of educational and entertainment events of various types, including lectures and public talks for students and young IT specialists with successful business representatives, gastronomic and musical events, and a street art festival.
