AI-based solution suite for the full lifecycle of new materials development
A comprehensive AI-driven solution covering the entire lifecycle of developing new inorganic materials and alloys. It includes the use of language models for analyzing scientific publications and developing project concepts, generative AI for crystal lattice modeling and the creation of new materials with desired properties, as well as language models for planning synthesis, research, and testing.

Autonomous AI-based rock breaker control system
In the mining and geological conditions of the Polar Division, a common task in the ore extraction process is the crushing of oversized material (rock fragments that cannot pass further along the processing chain). The primary solution is the use of rock breaker systems.
As part of the project, an integrated hardware and software system for autonomous rock breaker control was developed. AI is used to optimize operating parameters by calculating impact trajectory and force based on the analysis of the rock’s center of mass, its position, and the current position of the breaker.

AI-based predictive control of a grinding mill
A predictive control algorithm for an autogenous grinding mill at a processing plant, designed to stabilize the operation of critical equipment under high-load conditions.

AI design agents for end-to-end project delivery
The agents perform the functions of a lead design engineer end-to-end—from concept to final deliverables. They assist in preparing technical specifications in compliance with regulatory standards (SNiP, GOST), and subsequently generate 3D models and full design documentation, maintaining design consistency from requirements to final drawings while minimizing clashes.
AI enables real-time interaction with building elements: materials can be modified, layouts adjusted, and a full end-to-end recalculation—from specification updates to drawings—is performed instantly.
The agents are powered by the domain-specific METALgpt model, which delivers superior performance due to training on Norilsk Nickel’s engineering solutions and national design and construction standards.
