The business program of the anniversary CIPR-2025 opened with a discussion of strategic issues and technological priorities of the industry in the context of transformation. The discussion was moderated by the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadaev. The participants discussed how to turn digital transformation into the foundation of technological leadership, as well as what solutions shape the industrial standards of tomorrow. “Our task is not just to replace foreign analogues, but to create competitive ecosystems, as has already been done in metallurgy and industry,” commented Maksut Shadaev. In addition, the head of the ministry got familiarized with the latest developments of technology companies during a tour of the exhibition exposition.

The central part of the event in Nizhny Novgorod was the plenary session “Digital Independence of Industrial Russia”, which took place on June 3. The key participant was the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. He spoke about the main achievements of the domestic IT industry over the past 3 years and said that since 2022, sales of domestic IT solutions and services have almost doubled, reaching 4.5 trillion rubles. The head of government also said that Russia is ready to share its best practices in the digital sphere with partners and noted that, despite the withdrawal of a number of foreign companies, Russia has developed its own technologies and has begun to massively implement them. The CIPR conference has played a significant role in this.

The Digitalization of Industrial Russia Conference” marks its tenth anniversary this year. Over this time, it has established itself as one of the country’s main venues for meetings of all participants in the digital economy – developers, major companies, and public officials. Here, new ideas for the development of the industry become the result of professional discussions. Today’s event has confirmed this once again. I wish the CIPR further success, and wish all its participants interesting and sought-after projects,” added Mikhail Mishustin.

A special feature of this year was the main plenary session in a new location – the renovated Passage of the Nizhny Novgorod Fair. “This is a familiar playground for Nizhny Novgorod residents. The atrium has been renovated, stripped of redundant structures, and now it is a rich space with preserved history on its walls! As for digital technologies, they have given the facility a special look! There are more than 5,000 additional square meters to hold, for example, plenary sessions and international conferences, and organize large expositions. This is our true legacy,” said Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Together with the First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, Head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadaev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov and the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin visited the exhibition of Russian and international digital solutions. In particular, at a meeting with the Cuban delegation, the Minister of Communications of the Republic, Mayra Arevich Marín, stated that cooperation with Russia is the most important for Cuba, especially in the field of telecommunications and computer science. Companies from the Republic of Belarus presented to the Prime Minister labor-related solutions, in particular, a VR-based system for training personnel for the energy sector. Russian companies also showed their developments to the prime minister: ROSATOM, Aeroflot, Severstal, CSoft, Top Systems, TMX, Sber, T-Bank, Eurochem, Gazprom Neft.

As part of the business program of the conference, results of Russia’s first systemic monitoring of the IT industry were presented. Monitoring results were summed up by Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation. At the 2024 year-end, the contribution of accredited companies in the IT industry to the Russian economy amounted to 6%, and for every ruble of government support invested the state earned 2 rubles in taxes, which makes the IT sector a driver of economic transformation, public administration and the social sphere.

“The IT industry is actively developing, which can be seen, among other things, from the solutions presented at the CIPR. At the same time, previously there was no reliable and unified industry assessment model that would show the real picture and dynamics. Based on comprehensive and regular monitoring of the IT industry, it is also planned to analyze the effectiveness of government support measures,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko.

In addition, he toured the exhibition, where he met with “digital attaches” – employees of Russian trade missions abroad who promote Russian IT products. The corresponding stand reflected the experience of international cooperation in this field.

During CIPR-2025, the merger of the EPS Forum of Responsible Business and the ESG Forum SO.ZNANIE was announced. The unified EPS Forum of Responsible Business “SO.ZNANIE” will be held this year in Nizhny Novgorod on October 16-17. A cooperation agreement was also signed between the Central Federal District and the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev and the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin agreed to jointly develop environmental initiatives and demographic programs, as well as contribute to the forum.

“It is critically important for entrepreneurs to have open platforms for direct discussion of joint initiatives with the authorities and experts. Together, the Central Federal District and the Volga Federal District make up half of our country’s population, economy, and investments. I am confident that the joint forum will strengthen partnership to achieve national development goals,” stressed Igor Shchegolev.
